9 Fun Things You Can Do With Your Old Clothes
We’ve all probably got some old clothes lying around that we don’t know what to do with. The worst thing you can do is leave them lying there when they could be put to good use! I have 9 suggestions here that you can use so you know you’ve done something productive with your old clothes. You have no excuse!
1. Make A Pillow Cover
If I love the material of an item of clothing, I’m really apprehensive to throw it away. So that I can still enjoy the material and make the most out of it, I like to put together a pillow cover! I use cushions like this to create diversity on my bed, sofa, and in other rooms of the house. You can never have enough pillows!
2. Customise Them
If I don’t think I’ll wear an item again, I like to look at it and think about how I can customise it. Can I cut the sleeves off? Create a fancy pattern in the back? Dye it? There are so many options, and each time you can make your old item look like something new. Even if the finished product isn’t your style, you could sell it on and get most of your money back!
3. Sell Them
You can’t always be bothered to get creative with old clothes, so the easiest thing to do is sell them. Advertise on social media or online selling sites. If you set the bidding low enough and maybe even offer free p&p, you’ll get lots of attention.
4. Swap Them
Host a clothes swap with your friends and you’ll all end up getting rid of what you don’t want while going home with clothes you do. It’s a great way to recycle. Something that’s old to you won’t be to your friend, and vice versa. Who knows? You might get your hands on some trendy online designer labels!
5. Recycle Them
Many areas have clothing recycling bins, or you can pop into a store that specialises in it and give your clothes to them. This is the best thing to do for the environment – don’t just throw them in the bin!
6. Give Them to Charity
If you’re feeling charitable, you might just want to give our old clothes to charity. You get a good feeling knowing that the money made from your clothing is going straight to a worthy cause.
7. Make Some Pom Pom Earrings
Pom pom earrings are ever so sassy, and can easily be made out of old t-shirts and other garments. You could even make bag chains and keyrings.
8. Make a Scarf
Make a scarf out of old t-shirts to have something funky and unique that you won’t see anybody else with!
9. Make a Stuffed Animal
Finally, you could consider making a stuffed animal if these clothes have some kind of sentimental value to you. Many people use their children’s old baby clothes to do this, so that they’re making a pretty decoration rather than clogging up wardrobes.
What will you do with your old clothes? Leave a comment!
